Mission to Saint Martin
Philly Church Packs for Mission
By Terrence Clark Chief Editor Voice of One
It was a Tuesday night and the pews of this Philly church was not filled with parishioners, but with non-perishable food. Cans and boxes of produce were inside awaiting their departure to a place some people called Heaven—Saint Martin.
Pastor Kenneth Porter’s church Community Bible Deliverance partnered with Power Praise and Deliverance International—Pastor Jennifer Brown based on the vacation island. There the ministry not only ministers to souls, but to children, the homeless, and unemployed—needs that are prevalent among its citizens.
Church secretary, Lisa Bowers is convinced that part of the commission of ministry, delegated to the body Christ, is to feed people that are hungry and help those who are in need. The congregation was asked by their pastor, to ask their friends to donate money and food for the mission. And, edibles items were not all that was being sent. Medical supplies and stuff for babies were also readied for transport. The secretary announced the current project was just the beginning of their church’s mission to help the people of Saint Martin.
