by Rev. Terrence G. Clark
A recent prophetic conference in New Jersey featured several ministries. Over the course of the event, two of the speakers were Pastor Paul Mitchell and Dr. Cynthia Trimm. Pastor Jeffery and Avril Lewis from Keys of Life Church, Mt. Ephraim hosted the event held constructively at their church and on the campus of neighboring Burlington Community College. Prepared with a time of prayer and fasting, the meeting brought together preachers, parishioners, and prayer intercessors from various churches. Many gathered to hear a prophetic word for their church, ministry, and lives. Voice of One CNC Magazine was able to spend some time with two of the guest speakers as they prepared to fly to their respective ministries and next assignment.

Vof1: Why is the prophetic gift and message so important to the body of Christ in the day we live in?
Pastor Paul: We must recognize that we are not wrestling against flesh and blood, but this is a spiritual warfare. We have to have the ability to prophetically see into the supernatural, so that we can warfare and affect the natural realm.
Vof1: How do you answer folks who ask, why do we need manifestations of the HOLY SPIRIT?
Pastor Paul: We need the manifestations, because without the power of God, which is the HOLY SPIRIT, we are no match for the supernatural. The bible says we must submit ourselves to God and resist the devil that is the only way he is going to flee. So we need the manifestation of the HOLY SPIRIT and the gifts of the Spirit in our lives to overcome the enemy.
Vof1: God gave the prophet Jonah a Word that when preached caused the city of Nineveh to repent. What is the Jonah word for the body of Christ and for the world today?
Pastor Paul: That Jesus loves them. People need to know that God so loved the world that he gave his Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. The world need to know that Jesus came because of the love God has for the world.

Vof1: Why do you think the critics in church fight against the "prosperity message” so much?
Pastor Paul: Because the bible says my people perish for the lack of knowledge and I think it’s because they don’t have knowledge about prosperity. Prosperity is not just an excess of things. It’s for the purpose of being a blessing to others. If we are not prospering, how we can help other people. It takes wealth. It takes prosperity for us to do so. The bible makes it clear. It’s the blessing of the Lord that makes rich and adds no sorrow to it (Proverbs 10:22). God wants us to be in a position to move sorrow off of people lives that come from poverty. Vof1: In God’s time scale where do you think the church is right now? Pastor Paul: I believe the church is at a crucial time right now. The Word says where sin abounds, grace does much more abound. So we can’t focus on the negative that’s in the world right now. We have to recognize that God is still in charge. He’s still the God of the universe God of the world. The body of Christ is in a position to mature and to grow. I think that the purpose of us going to church is to grow and mature. In this crucial time, we have to recognize that we have to come to the place of maturity so that God can be glorified in Christ. Vof1: If you had all the pastors of the world, in the church, regardless of denomination, at one of your conferences, what would you tell them that they should be doing right now? Pastor Paul: I think they should be edifying the body of Christ. I have a theme for our church this year and it’s called Bodybuilders. I think the purpose for us coming to church is to edify, exhort, and to comfort. People need to be edified. People need to be comforted. People need to be built up and encouraged. Vof1: Who is Jesus Christ in your life? Pastor Paul: Without hesitation, Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior. When I think about Jesus Christ - if it wasn’t for the shedding of his blood, there would be no remission of sin. So He’s my everything. He’s my everything. |
To note, New Testament or modern day biblical prophets don’t have the same assignment as their Old Testament counterparts. Still, a God-placed gift in the church, the role of this wave of men and women, are to proclaim the gospel accompanied with the respective gifts of the Holy Spirit. |

Vof1: Why is the prophetic important to the body of Christ?
Dr. Cindy: It’s a dimension in God. It’s in this place God is able to reveal to us, like he has done in the past, the unfolding of events and prepare us for them. It’s so we can prepare ourselves as well as be effective in our generation. It’s a place where has given us on the earth realm so that we not only maximize are potential but make a positive contribution to the world.
Vof1: You mention last night the "sons of Issachar" discerning the times and seasons where would you say the church is right now in God time table?
Dr. Cindy: We’re maturing. We are understanding the kingdom, which the message of maturing. The Kingdom of God message gives meaning, hope, dignity, and purpose to all humanity, not just for the church, but to all humanity. And this is the central message of Christ. Not only message of salvation, but a message of empowerment that puts people back in the driver’s seat. Letting them know they don’t have to be victims of circumstance, or just products of their environment.
The bible outlines for us the will of God, which is a legal document. The bible contains not only God’s will, but it also outlines principles for life and living. I believe the church is now at the position and maturity enough, to understand that its time for us, to renew our spirit and social contract to the world.
Vof1: Your message embraces prosperity. What do you say to the critics in the church that argue against prosperity?
Dr. Cindy: I think we have a misunderstanding of the definition of prosperity from a biblical perspective. I believe that prosperity is the divine ability to overcome obstacles that prevent us from fulfilling purpose. God given prosperity overcomes obstacles that prevent us from being everything that God wants us to be---not only as individuals but corporately. And prosperity is a biblical message 3 John 2 - "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth". This is prosperity to the degree that we are able to prosper our soul to the degree that we are able to prosper in every other area of our lives. And number two, I think we have been myopic not only in our understanding, but in our deliberation and articulation of the message of prosperity, primarily because, we are coming into a new season. It’s a season where we are able to have access to capital. We have access to more things than we have ever had as a people. We have opportunity to establish businesses. We have greater understanding as God places us in a position where we are established in present truth Holy Spirit. We have a greater understanding of our role and responsibility as citizens of the kingdom of God and of heaven. To be a lender not a borrower, you have to have resources. The thing is, when you make the kingdom of heaven your priority, then it preamps consumerism and materialism. And to clear up, and be very firm and strong, in my position of prosperity, I believe that prosperity is not just for some of us but for all of us. But it is purpose oriented, the greater your purpose, the greater your need for resources, and as long as we are making the kingdom our priority, it preamps prosperity. Prosperity is divine enablement to overcome obstacles, to fulfill purpose, to maximize our potential, to progress, and to experience success—based on biblical principles. It requires us not to compromise our core values as Christians. We must make sure that our priority is the pursuit of the kingdom of heaven, to the glory of a God, and not the mere accumulation of stuff, things, and wealth. It is also the distribution of those things. It makes us stewards. We have the ability not only to discharge our duties as Christians, but to keep the main thing. the main thing that is to bring glory to God, to make a difference in this world, to advance the kingdom until the kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ. As we go into all the world and make disciples that take resource.
