He didn’t know Pastor Mike but there must have been a reason for him to have this tape. He leaned back in the living room chair and listened to the pastor speak. He thought Pastor Mile was speaking directly to him, “God will take you out of the crack house, the liquor house, the whore house, and fornication.” Thomas didn’t want to hear that and kept alternating between getting high and listening to the tape.
One night, his friend and he were getting high and he started looking around at everyone there, whose faces appeared bizarre. Some were peeking out the windows while others were doing their thing getting high too. Disgusted, Thomas said to himself, “I’m sick and tired of getting high.” He left them in the room and walked to the bedroom and placed the crack pipe on the floor. He asked God to take his desire for drugs away. He threw the pipe out the back door. He dropped to his knees and asked God to take everything. He couldn’t continue like this. He got up from the floor, lay down on the bed, and went to sleep.
When Thomas woke up, he didn’t want nothing. This never happened before. Something was different. That night He took cigarettes, alcohol, crack, and the woman he shouldn’t have been living with away from him. Thomas’ stress and suffering decreased overnight. God made a clean sweep and his desires disappeared. He was peaceful like the ripples on the water.
When Thomas shared details with his friends they couldn’t believe it and were convinced he would change his mind. The drug boy (dealer) tried to entice him back to the crack. They filed out of there shaking their heads and couldn’t come back. Thomas was full of joy and started praising God.
Thomas applied for and expected disability checks which usually takes more than a minute. He needed the money. Ah, he got a call from the disability office and listened closely. They informed him they sent him a check for $6,000. Whoa, he was overwhelmed and beamed. He shared his testimony openly and never relapsed.
He found a church that was close and went there by himself. The pastor and the people welcomed him and he started being filled with the Word of God. God gave a new start on life and uplifted him.
Thomas’ wife and he were separated for twenty five years. He communicated with his wife, and moved back to New Jersey where he used to deal but now God made him brand new. They have been together for fifteen years and married for over fifty years. God blessed them to have street ministry praying for people, leading them to Christ, and feeding the hungry. They also served the hungry in the church. Thomas served as a Deacon in the church and now he serves as an Elder and his wife is a Deaconess. They enjoy devoting their lives to the Lord and the community.
Your time is running out. The hunt is on. God’s waiting on you. What’s it going to take? The devil had a tight hold on Thomas but God destroyed his grip and set him free. He can restore your relationships, heal your body, take unwanted desires, and give you a new start in life right where you are.
